Wallets and digital assets
Connect euro payments, payment accounts, wallets and digital assets in simple, embedded journeys suited to the applicable regulatory framework.
In brief
Connecting the euro to a wallet or a stablecoin means naming the operator of each step. Tractial does not currently hold a licence or registration of its own for digital-asset services. Limits come before benefits.
Stablecoins and digital assets are progressively becoming infrastructure components for certain financial uses: settlements, transfers, Web3 platforms or new digital journeys. Tractial takes a use-case-driven approach: connecting euro payment services to wallets and digital assets where the use case, the partner and the regulatory framework allow it.
Euro / stablecoin dual rail (boundaries)
- EUR payment account
Operated by Tractial, a payment institution.
See the page - Controls
Checks and monitoring within the project scope.
See the page - Conversion
Where applicable, a partner holding the required statuses. Not Tractial as a CASP.
- Self-custody wallet
The user keeps control of the device. A specific framework applies if digital assets are involved.
- Possible return to euro
Same logic: named operator, analysed framework, no availability promise.
Teaching the responsibilities. Self-custody: Tractial does not hold keys. Conversion: authorised provider where the framework requires it.
Possible use cases
Web3 platforms
Connecting euro journeys to wallets or digital services.
Euro / digital asset conversion (crypto ramp)
Linking euro payment rails to digital assets within an analysed framework.
Hybrid services
Combining payment accounts, wallets and digital assets in a single journey, without excessive complexity for the user.
Components involved
- Crypto ramp
- Wallets
- Stablecoins
- Blockchain gateways
Before any benefit
Every project is reviewed. Digital-asset services are not available for every file.
Operator per step
| Step | Who operates | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| Euro / payment account | Tractial (payment institution) | Not a bank account |
| Conversion | Authorised partner, if required | Not a Tractial MiCA / CASP licence |
| Wallet | User (self-custody) or named provider | Not key custody by Tractial |
| Stablecoin | Infrastructure component, applicable EU framework | Not a Tractial investment product |
Regulatory framework
Digital asset services fall under specific regulatory frameworks and may require dedicated registrations or licences. Tractial does not currently hold a licence or registration specific to digital asset services: the use cases presented are assessed case by case, in compliance with the applicable framework and, where necessary, with partners holding the required statuses.
FAQ
Is a wallet always a crypto wallet?
No. The term wallet can refer to various means of tracking or managing digital value. Where digital assets are involved, a specific regulatory framework applies.
Does Tractial offer stablecoins as an investment?
No. Stablecoins are presented here as a potential infrastructure and payment component, not as an investment product.
Can an IBAN be connected to a wallet?
This can be assessed depending on the project, the technical scope and the applicable regulatory framework.
Are digital asset services available for every project?
No. Every project must undergo compliance, eligibility and technical feasibility analysis.
Is Tractial licensed for digital-asset services?
No. Tractial does not currently hold a licence or registration of its own for digital-asset services. Journeys that connect the euro to a wallet or a stablecoin are assessed case by case, with the authorised provider where required.
